LOOKBOOK NO.42

Wednesday, May 13, 2015

So my best friend, my soul sister, just got engaged and I could not be happier. We went all out for her engagement party - nails, make-up artist, new outfits...I joked it was a practice for the actual wedding day! I bought this beautiful navy long sleeve flared Zara dress for the occasion. At 28, not only am I spending more less often on better quality pieces, I also feel like I want to cover up a bit more. So, if my arms are covered then I don't mind showing my legs and visa versa. I think the long sleeves on this dress are really elegant, if it was sleeveless I don't think it would be as special. These are also the first pair of heels I have bought in over a year. My feet just can't handle the pain anymore. But this dress, and this special occasion, called for a beautiful pair of heels. I literally searched Canal Walk and the Waterfront for a pair of simple, black heels. Nothing. I didn't want a pair that had an ankle strap, that always cuts off your leg and makes it look podgy. The ones I did find either hurt too much or were Chinese plastic rubbish and were way overpriced. I found these Madison heels online at Spree. They were delivered the next day! I managed in them for  seven hours (ouch!) so I'm happy and I know I'll definitely wear them again. I wore simple accessories, my most treasured item of jewellery and the piece I wear most, my diamond studs, a gift from my Mother.

P.S. Excuse the pasty legs but it's that time of the year, hello Winter!

You looked absolutely love. The sleeves really do make the outfit, and those heels are EVERYTHING. I am about to pop on over to Spree's website!
