RUN FOR HOPE

Monday, October 22, 2012

This is a cause very near to my heart. My mother established Atlantic Hope over two years ago when she witnessed the need for places of safety for abandoned babies awaiting adoption, foster care or to be re-united with family. Our public hospitals cannot cope with the amount of beds and nurses needed to care for these babies - there are more of these vulnerable babies than you can ever imagine. So they are brought to organizations such as Atlantic Hope where my mom and the carers bath, feed, nurture, clothe and care for them. So far 14 babies have come through my mother's home. Unfortunately my mom has to financially support these babies on he rown whilst they are in her care. From their vaccinations to their formula and nappies, the bills reach thousands for one baby, so they like many charities rely on donations. I want to help. And so can you! Donate as little as R10 or sponsor an entire kilometer of my upcoming half marathon for R1000. Every cent helps. My mother has been selfless, she does this from her heart but sadly she cannot continue unless this NPO can get some support as she now does this full time, putting all her energy into raising money and running Atlantic Hope. Please visit their website to see the stories of hope. Atlantic Hope is the only place of safety in Sea Point, Cape Town.
