Last night I attended the opening of the Missibaba and Kirsten Goss store at 229 Bree Street. A perfect match undoubtedly and as part of a bunch of media who see it all, I have a great feeling that this partnership is going to do smashingly! Both labels share one space with two stores in one. I don't need to tell you about Missibaba, unless you have been sleeping you should know her quirky leather range.

But that's not what I want to tell you. Let's  talk about what it means for jewellery addicts alike, specifically. SA is begging for high fashion at affordable prices. Although it isn't clothing, South African born Goss is giving us high end pieces, with a fashion edge, priced within in our grasp - and unlike the cheap items we get at local accessories stores - her pieces will last forever because of course craftsman ship is important to her and she uses proper materials. I mean we can all find spike earrings everywhere now right? But the ones we have available to us will eventually turn a bad colour. Well now you can invest in the real deal like these lovelies from her Tough Luxe collection.

For a while OTT jewels have been climbing up the trend ranks. They are most popular now more than ever with American online shopping site Charm and Chain doing extremely well. I am addicted to scrolling through its pages upon pages of accessories - all by top designers and very pricey South Africans. Jeweller and Gemologist Kirsten is a welcome brand here, each handcrafted piece offers us something just as covetable with her own signature. What has been unattainable to us, is now literally on our doorstep.

Here's wishing her and Missibaba all the best at their 'new home', and to you shopping there not for others but for yourself!
